About Southern Nevada SHRM
Southern Nevada SHRM (SNVSHRM) is the premier professional association for human resource professionals in the southern region of Nevada. With nearly 500 members representing more than 200 organizations, we are a thriving community of HR practitioners dedicated to advancing the profession and supporting the career development of our members.
Although we are an affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), we operate independently, offering a wide range of professional development opportunities and networking events tailored to the unique needs of HR professionals in the Las Vegas Valley.
Our Membership
Our chapter's diverse membership represents corporations and organizations of various sizes, as well as independent consultants. Members range from entry-level professionals to senior HR leaders, working in both specialist and generalist roles across a variety of industries. Whether you're just starting your HR career or you're a seasoned professional, SNVSHRM offers resources, events, and connections to help you grow.
Our Objectives
SNVSHRM is committed to elevating the HR profession through the following objectives:
- Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing: We provide opportunities for HR professionals to discuss current challenges and share insights that foster mutual growth and self-improvement.
- Improvement of HR Practices: Our chapter works to enhance HR management practices across key areas such as recruitment, compensation, training, labor relations, and personnel research—promoting strategies that benefit both employees and employers.
- Raising Performance Standards: We strive to raise performance standards in all phases of human resource management and contribute to career guidance within the educational systems in the Las Vegas area.
SHRM Certification & Study Groups
Southern Nevada SHRM offers dedicated SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification Study Groups using the most recent SHRM Learning System. These study groups are designed to help professionals prepare for SHRM certification with the guidance of experienced facilitators and comprehensive learning modules.
Whether you’re pursuing SHRM certification for personal career advancement or professional development for your team, our study groups provide the resources and tools needed for success.
