From the President - December 2020
Hi Friends!
This month will officially close out 2020! I can’t actually pinpoint the day or month that I personally accepted that the “temporary adjustments” that were made in my business and personal life became the present “normal operations”. It has been a tough year for so many, and the challenges will continue to come, but as a community, working together, we can continue to get through it.
Resilience: noun: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness; the ability of a substance or object (or person) to spring back into shape; elasticity.
Every person I have encountered during this brief time as your chapter’s President, has shown a measure of resilience. You have had to strap on your catcher’s gear! Glove, helmet, mask, shin guards, chest protector and more, then catch and react to literally hundreds of challenges coming from every direction.
What was once almost unfathomable in March and April, is now routine. Many of us have embraced technology and new avenues of communication, interaction, ideas of workspace and of work/life balance. There are a lot of practices our workplace, which were the standard before, that we will never go back to! We were forced to stretch and find new ways to succeed and we did it! Because you are RESILIANT!
A few of the Highlights from 2020:
-
We converted to a shared online hub for our Chapter’s Board Administration, creating a historical repository for future chapter leaders.
-
Moved to electronic registration and expedited check-in for our in-person Membership events
-
Deployed an online platform to conduct monthly virtual Membership Programming and Board meetings.
-
Created an online interface for Chapter Volunteerism, Member Feedback and Board Member reporting
-
Moved to Dual Chapter membership with SHRM!
I’d like to personally thank our sponsors, speakers, Chapter members and Board members from 2020. To see a recap list of meetings, events and activities we were able to provide this year, check out our Events Page for 2020!
