From the President – July 2020

    Hi Friends!

Happy Fourth of July! As Americans get ready to celebrate our country’s birthday amidst one of the more challenging times in our country’s brief history, I am hopeful that the challenges we have seen in recent months will bring about change and forward momentum. It certainly layers on opportunities for Human Resource professionals to showcase strong initiatives around some central themes, like Workplace Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, Safety, Employee Benefits and Mental Health. I encourage you to find ways to be a strategic partner to your organization’s leadership and look for positive ways to address these challenges, within your sphere of influence.

Speaking of Strategic Partnerships… If you have a desire to add “Certified HR Professional” to your experience portfolio or resume, the NV SHRM  Chapter Study Group price of only $700 is the lowest of all HR Certification test preparation courses and is only available to participants in the Chapter Study Group.  If you are planning to sit for any HR certification exam, participation in our Chapter Study Group will give you the edge that will make a difference. Professionals who use the SHRM Learning System to prepare for their certification exam consistently exceed the average pass rate.

We are open for registration and need a minimum number of participants, so visit the SHRM Certification page of our SNVSHRM.org website to learn more and save a spot!

Mid-Year Legal Update July 14th, please join Southern Nevada SHRM as we welcome back Sutton-Hague to give the Mid-Year Legal Update to our membership. There are certainly plenty of legal issues on the minds of HR folks right now! This online webcast, with the ability to ask your questions in the Q&A forum, is sure to be a “don’t miss” program. Plus, you won’t even have to drive back to your office space in a brutally hot car! Registration is open online at SNVSHRM.ORG

Finally, thank you! Our chapter counts on its members. Thanks for all you do each day to promote the wellbeing of your teams, our community, and our profession! I welcome your direct feedback! You may contact any time! melissa.amaon.shrm@gmail.com
