Vote on Webinar Platform

    SNV SHRM BOARD,

Unfortunately during our 5/15/20 Board meeting, we could not secure a quorum to address an important and time-sensitive agenda item regarding a web platform.

A three-part motion was made by Kathy McDougal and seconded by Cynthia Adams:

    • Move to approve the committee recommended webinar platform of GoToWebinar at $1,100 per year.
    • Move to create a tech sponsor at a level (cost) equal to that of the cost to purchase an e-blast.
    • Move to offer flexible pricing for attendee registration the June webinar membership meeting.

PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS MAY 29, 2020 TO APPROVE THIS MOTION.

Details of the discussion from the meeting:

A platform must be secured in order to proceed with June Member Programming

The cost is approximately $1100 per year and can support up to 250 attendees and offers a free GoToMeeting profile account for use.  This amount is above the budgeted amount of $1000,  but includes a GoToMeeting account.

Financial offsets discussed, include but are not limited to

    • The platform would be available for our Chapter Meetings, Membership Programming, and Certification Study Groups. It may also be feasible to loan or rent the platform for a nominal fee; for example, to the Special Interest Groups of Student Chapters.

As you know, the May program was sponsored by Sutton-Hague. During the June Member Program, we would offer a flexible pricing structure. This would display the current Member Programming Rate for in person meetings and offer suggested registration fees for the Webinar. Participants would determine their own "registration fee" in order to register. This will help guide us to see "what the market will bear" at this juncture.

Thereafter, we would set the rate for Member Programming, which is facilitated via Webinar.

    • Chapter Sponsorship offerings would be been expanded to include a Technology Sponsorship in an effort to secure an offset.
    • Board Members will be expected to promote our Sponsorships via a campaign in June and thereafter, Quarterly campaigns.

If you have any concerns or questions surrounding the research and discussions which took place during the May Board meeting, please feel free to contact a member of the Executive BOD.

REMINDER:  PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS MAY 29, 2020 TO APPROVE THIS MOTION.
